Street Art is a phenomenon in cities worldwide and has experienced a big boom lately. "Grown up" Graffiti artists were looking for something new and started using the city as canvas, creating a new atmosphere. Who hasn't noticed those wack posters, Japanese characters, posters in the most obnoxious spots or dozens of stickers on traffic lights and stencilart with subversive messages or strange motives. Welcome to the colourful and versatile cosmos of Street Art !

In almost every metropole, from Australia to Europe, from Japan to the US, you will find those individual marks of various local street artists. They have turned public space and buildings into visual landscapes using paste up art, stickers, posters and stencil art. Their vision is to explore their chosen images and marks in different urban areas. Every tag seen on the street has its own artistic merit. By taking a closer look next time you walk your city streets, you will begin to share the awareness those underground work envisions. There is "Flowerguy" in New York City who decorates buidlings in Manhattan with his unique flowers. There is the art of "Space Invader" in Paris whose typical character from the renowned computergame can be found all over the city. And "Toasters", a London-based group of street artists, explore their "toaster" images all over Europe using billboards, buildings or public infrastructure as their canvas.

This is the first official and international collection of various Street Art artists, coming to you as nicely designed book of the publishing company Publikat KG and Christian Hundertmark as well as an exclusive Compost compilation remixed by Dj Florian Keller. More on Publikat KG to be found on www.stylefile.de, the page of their graffiti mag.

The Munich-based graphic designer, art director of the BMX-Videomagazin Soul and street artist, Christian Hundertmark aka C100 developed his passion for Street Art through combining design and graffiti while he was studying graphic design. These days he's part of the Mindclouder Tour, who displayed in several countries all over Europe, sponsored by Gravis-shoes.

Florian Keller has been spinning records since 1985. Along with Michael Reinboth and Theo Thönnessen he's the founder and a resident Dj of Into Somethin` - Munich's legendary weekly club nite. He's also involved in the Into Somethin' Radioshow. His sets are stamped by his fervour of funk and rare grooves, but upfront freestyle won't be missed neither.
